What is it?
The first annual Dirt Orcas Summer Classic – In conjunction with BMW Motorcycles of Iowa City, Jefferson County Ciderworks, www.TheWarmingStore.com, and Riley Designs – I am planning a fun event for dual sport riders. We have put together a fun little route that winds on mostly B-Roads and gravel from Iowa city to a beautiful Cidery in Jefferson County. There will be water crossings and ample dirt under our tires, but this route will be doable for all adventure bikes with at least 50/50 tread. It’s not epic, but sometimes a half day is just right.
The event begins with a meet and greet at BMW Motorcycles of Iowa City. They will have new gear and bikes on display. We then arrive at Jefferson county Ciderworks for new american ciders handmade on site and a terrific selection of craft beers. There will also be a food truck with a tasty dinner selection. You will receive one free drink ticket with your registration but all additional food and beverages will need to be purchased. Once night starts to fall, we have an outdoor movie screen set up to show the RideBDR.com promotional movie for the Nevada BDR, produced with Butler Maps and Touratech. On site camping in the neighboring field will be available as part of the package, but there are also hotels about 5 minutes away if you prefer to stay there.
It should be a very fun event and I really look forward to meeting and visiting with our Midwest Adventure Motorcycling community.
