The Second Annual Dirt Orca’s Summer Classic - a dual sport ride that winds on mostly B-Roads and gravel from Iowa City to a beautiful cidery in Jefferson County, Iowa. The MABDR film will be shown at 9:30 pm. For a full schedule of the event visit the Dirt Orcas website.

The second annual Dirt Orca’s Summer Classic – In conjunction with BMW Motorcycles of Iowa City, Backcountry Discovery Routes, Jefferson County Ciderworks, Giant Loop and TheWarmingStore.com – We have once again put together a dual sport route that winds on mostly B-Roads and gravel from Iowa City to a beautiful cidery in Jefferson County, Iowa. There will be water crossings and ample dirt under our tires, but this track will be doable for all adventure bikes with at least 50/50 tread. It’s not epic, but sometimes one day is just right.
This year we have added something new. We will be constructing some natural obstacles at BMW Motorcycles of Iowa City. This will give participants the opportunity to learn specific skills from our instructors, watch live demonstrations, and get in person advice on how to navigate situations like this on the trail. Later in the day we will use the same obstacles for some friendly competitions with prizes.

Complete Event Schedule
10AM – Registration begins at BMW Motorcycles of Iowa City.
10:30AM – Meet and Greet – (Coffee and Doughnut will be provided) – We will have several obstacles and natural features constructed on site. Off-road instructors will be present for instructions on technique, advice, and demonstrations.
12PM – Break for lunch, but there will be a food truck present on site.
1PM – First raffle drawing of the day at BMW, friendly competitions on the obstacles, new model test rides, and to check out the latest gear from BMW Motorrad, KLIM, Shoei, and more.
3PM – Depart for Jefferson County on a fantastic dual sport track that covers a mix of gravel, B-roads and a little bit of pavement. You’ll hit a few water crossings and some really fun trails. All doable on large adventure bikes as long as you have a 50/50 tire.
6PM – Arrive at Jefferson Country Ciderworks. Food and Drinks available for purchase
9:30PM – Outdoor movie showing of the new Mid-Atlantic BDR Movie
10:30PM – Camping offered on-site at Jefferson County Ciderworks or, if you prefer, there are hotels nearby
Sunday Morning – Riders are on their own to get home.
