Their contract shows an ending date for the project in mid-July. When it opens it will be alternating one lane traffic just line on any highway project when there is paving. This date may change due to the massive amounts of snow still in the high country.

CABDR UPDATE 3/21

Mar 21st, 2019
The CABDR route update for 3/21/19: Westside Road in Death Valley is now open. Titus Canyon is still closed to travel. We have heard from riders who have gone over the backside of Cerro Gordo going North to South travel. They were able to do the route, but there was some snow, but still able to get through. Keep in mind they were going downhill from Cerro Gordo. The main route from Lone Pine to Benton is now all open and dry enough to ride. There is still some standing water on parts for the road, but is drying up fast. Please try to stay on the road where ever possible. Riding off trail or roads will tend to get roads closed. After all a little water won't hurt you. There is still snow in the high expert only routes in the Owens Valley

CABDR Closures and Updates 2/19/19

Feb 19th, 2019
Here are the CABDR closure and route updates for 2/19/19. Because of the recent heavy rain storms along the CABDR there are several closures. Titus Canyon and Mesquite Springs Campground are closed. No time frame for re-opening. The Owens Valley floor has received lots of heavy rain thus making it almost impossible to travel from Lone Pine to Bishop. The snow elevation level is also extremely low and has closed the Expert only sections in the Owens Valley and even the section just before Big Pine on the main route. In order not to do damage to the valley floor we are asking that everyone please stay off the route from Lone Pine to Benton.

We are assuming there will be snow on the easier alternate route from Teakettle Junction up Hunter Mtn. This also means there will be snow on the harder alternate route up Mazourka Wyman Silver Canyons.
