Over the past two years there has been significant rain and flooding in the Arizona area. There is a section of road in Section 2 that was slightly rutted in the past but now has become heavily rutted. When traveling using Track AZ4 Mammoth to Globe you turn off of Hwy 77 onto Dripping Springs Road. The rutting doesn’t happen until you go about 10 miles up Dripping Springs and Forest Rd 112. The road is still passable, but good lines must be picked and traversing the ruts from one side of the road to the other is required. This short section is about 1.5 miles in length and should be considered an Intermediate Plus section. If you think this is something you can do, then the view and rest of the road is fantastic and worth the section. The sections was challenging but was completed in a pair of BMW G650GS on Monday, April 25th.
Heading north the start of the rutted section is:
33° 14.704′ N 110° 49.667 W
The end of the rutted section occurs at:
33° 15.122′ N 110° 49.117 W
