The Dollar Ridge Fire remained active throughout the night Friday into Saturday morning, continuing to spread west of Timber Canyon toward Willow Creek Ridge Road. A small spot fire, about 5 acres in size, was located Saturday morning west of Willow Creek Ridge Road. This slop over was contained by firefighters by Saturday afternoon.
Crews were able to conduct planned firing operations on the west side of the fire, working south toward Timber Canyon Road and Jackson Hollow. Additional firing operations are planned for Sunday, which will produce additional smoke above the fire.
Thunderstorms forecast for Saturday afternoon did not produce any rain over the fire. More unstable weather is forecast for the coming days, which could affect firefighting operations.
The potential for rain means flash flooding and debris flows in the Strawberry River drainage within the Dollar Ridge Fire burn scar are possible. Please avoid this area for your safety.
