Become A Donor

Our work is made possible by the generosity of people who believe in preserving public lands for dual-sport and adventure motorcycle travel for generations to come.

In addition to supporting the BDR through our Annual Supporter Program, attending our annual Fundraiser Ride, participating in the Annual Holiday Auction or the Bike Sweepstakes, there are other ways you can help Backcountry Discovery Routes by making a tax-deductible donation.

Make Your Contributions Go Further

Make a Donation

If you’re looking for an easy and convenient way to reduce your tax liability while also supporting the BDR mission, consider simply making a donation to the BDR non-profit. No contribution is too large or too small.

You can make a one-time gift by donating online with a credit card using the button below or mailing a check to:

Backcountry Discovery Routes
3250 Airport Way South
Ste 733
Seattle, WA 98134

Better yet, provide ongoing support for our work by setting up a re-curing monthly donation. Simply donate online using the button below and select “make this donation monthly.” Your gift will be automatically charged to your credit card monthly, on the date of your choice. You are able to adjust your giving level or cancel your commitment at any time.

Employer Matching Donations

Many employers have a program that will match your donation to a 501c(3) organization like BDR. Check with your human resources department to see if your donation or volunteer hours can be matched by your employer.

Give Through a Donor Advised Fund, a Family Foundation, or a Charitable Trust.

BDR supporters who want to ensure that future generations of adventure enthusiasts can benefit from their generosity and legacy can donate through their Donor-Advised Fund, a Family Foundation or Charitable Trust.

Gifts of Stock

Giving stock that has been held more than 12 months, may offer a two-fold tax savings: a tax-deduction for the full fair market value of the stock on the date of the gift and possible avoidance of capital gains. For stock transfer information, please call: 206-383-6233.

Bequests

A bequest through your Will or Estate Planning Documents may allow you to designate a specific dollar amount or a percentage of your estate to the BDR. A bequest showcases your values to your heirs and can reduce the amount of your taxable estate, which may increase the actual amount available to loved ones.

Tribute or Memorial Gifts

Make gift-giving occasions particularly meaningful by supporting the future of ADV recreation. Whether it is Mother’s/Father’s Day, a birthday, wedding, anniversary, or other occasion, consider asking those who are celebrating with you to give a donation to the BDR in lieu of gifts.

Or, honor the memory of your loved one by making a gift in their name. All memorial gifts will be acknowledged through a personal note to the family of your loved one.

IRA Charitable giving

Individual Retirement Account (IRA) owners over age 70½ may make a transfer of up to $100,000 per year to qualified charities like the BDR. IRA charitable rollovers may be tax-free and not included in adjusted gross income. An IRA charitable rollover may fulfill part or all of your required minimum distribution (RMD).

For more information on any of these giving opportunities, contact Inna Thorn or call 206-383-6233.

Whichever way you choose to donate to the BDR, your gift supports the organization’s work to create and preserve off-highway routes for dual-sport and adventure motorcycle travel, promote rider education and safety, drive economic relief to rural communities, and encourage responsible motorcycle travel in the backcountry.

BDR is a public charity as described in Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Tax ID: 45-2440958. All donations received by BDR are tax-deductible to the full extent allowed by the law.
