Spanning approximately 1,300 miles through the diverse and stunning landscapes of the South East, the SEBDR starts at the Gulf in Florida, travels across the panhandle and winds its way through the Appalachian Mountains in Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee, and North Carolina, before concluding in Damascus, Virginia, where it connects to the Mid-Atlantic BDR.

Riders will experience a stunning range of climates and topographies, from dense forest roads and scenic overlooks to picturesque lakes, roaring rivers, and optional challenging sections. Twisty paved roads add to the fun, while the unique charm of southern culture and cuisine provides a memorable backdrop for the journey.

The SEBDR marks a significant milestone for BDR, completing the East Coast Trilogy: three interconnected eastern BDRs that create an epic route from the Gulf to the Canadian border.

Best time of year: The SEBDR can typically be ridden from April until the first snow in late fall, with the best times of the year in late spring and September/October. Various seasonal road closures may be in place throughout the winter and early spring months.

This region can have strong thunderstorms during the summer and many dirt roads are considered impassable when wet with slick mud and deep ruts. Fall is typically drier with cooler temps and spectacular leaf colors, but can get quite cold after the leaves fall.
