IMPORTANT Updates Regarding Initial Route Release

In regards to the initial release of the SEBDR tracks labeled SEBDR-March2025-v1

• Following the impacts of Hurricane Helene and other construction projects in place, several roads are currently closed for repairs, primarily in Sections 6, 7, 8 and the start of 9.
• Given the significance of these closures, the bypasses are integrated into the main GPS track sections, they are not separate bypass track files so they will be easier to follow, simply remain on the main track. Mileages will differ slightly from the official map in these sections for this reason. 
• Given the impacts from the storm and recurring chances for further flooding and downed trees, riders should expect to face other unforeseen closures along this route. Consider carrying a saw to cut downed trees blocking the road. Carry a map, download offline maps if you use a phone navigation app, and be prepared to find your own bypasses where travel may not be possible.
• Additionally, some annual seasonal closures may be in place, especially in the northern half of this route and parts of the route may not be passable until mid-April. Some seasonal closures are listed as waypoints in the GPS file, but we do not publish additional bypass tracks for seasonal closures as these portions of the route are considered closed during these periods.
• Always check for new Route Updates just before you go and always consider the latest version of GPS tracks as the most current version of the route, regardless of the paper map, as we expect things to change on an ongoing basis and ultimately match the full intended route shown on the map.
• If you find any closures or impassable sections, please report it to us by clicking HERE. GPS coordinates and photos are extremely helpful to inform our community of these changes.
