New Tracks Available for Download – Important Updates

A new version of the SEBDR is available labeled SEBDR-June2025-v1.0

This update includes a few refinements and some new additions:

• Section 6: a bypass track is still in place for a bridge closure.
• Section 7: a new Extension track has been added east of Tellico Plains for a great ride to the Mt Wauchessi Lookout Tower. This road is moderately steep but not overly rocky or challenging and is 3.1mi round trip.
• Section 7: A revision has been made to the route near Andrews NC that bypasses some highway and includes some great new pavement and dirt. Additionally, a new optional EXT track has been added to Bald River Falls
• Section 8: The original intended route leaving Maggie Valley on Old Cataloochee is currently closed for bridge repairs. An option to bypass via I40 is also closed for repairs. We have added the previous bypass track to the file and advise riders to take this until the original route is reopened. Both tracks are contained in the .gpx file.
• Section 9: as posted in the April release, River Road is now officially open leaving the town of Hot Springs NC
