The American Motorcyclist Association (AMA) Partners with BDR to Engage ADV Riders

April 4, 2025

For over a century, the American Motorcyclist Association (AMA) has been a steadfast advocate for motorcycle riders across the United States. From preserving access to public lands to offering practical benefits for riders, the AMA has long played a critical role in supporting the motorcycling community.

With the rise of adventure riding as a gateway into motorcycling for new and younger riders, the AMA has teamed up with Backcountry Discovery Routes (BDR)—the recognized voice of the ADV community—to attract these adventurers and demonstrate the value of AMA membership.

Riders who join the AMA today can request a special BDR Affinity Card and receive a free BDR x AMA neck gaiter. It’s a great way to show your support for both organizations while staying comfortable on the trail.

“I joined over 20 years ago and now I’m an AMA Charter Life Member. Joining the AMA is one of the best ways ADV riders can help protect the future of motorcycling as we know it. They fight for our rights and bring riders together through education, advocacy, and events. I’m excited that BDR is teaming up with the AMA and looking forward to finding more ways to work together for the motorcycle community.”
