Hells Canyon Idaho/Oregon BDR-X
The Hells Canyon BDR-X will be the 26th route developed by the BDR organization for adventure and dual-sport motorcycle travel. This 520-mile loop around the deepest canyon in the United States offers more than ten incredible canyon viewpoints and lookout towers on both sides of the Snake River in Oregon and Idaho. From the highest points on the canyon rim to the bottom of the river, riders will experience over 5,000 feet of elevation change, different altitude zones, and varying temperatures too. This is a moderate level route with a few optional harder sections.
The Hells Canyon BDR-X Route will officially be released on August 7, 2026, during the Yamaha Ténéré Trek event at Tamarack Resort in McCall, Idaho. Join us for the route launch and world premiere film in person or during a live broadcast on YouTube at 7:00 PM Pacific Time, as we unveil one of the most spectacular new riding experiences in the Backcountry Discovery Routes network.
See below for important links and additional information about the route and its release.
The Hells Canyon BDR-X was developed with support from the Yamaha Outdoor Access Initiative, AllTerra by Alpinestars, and onX Offroad.
