SEATTLE, WA (May 5, 2026) — Backcountry Discovery Routes® (BDR®) is excited to announce the release of the Adirondacks BDR-X, a new loop-style BDR route through the vast and iconic Adirondack Park in upstate New York.
The Adirondacks BDR-X will officially launch on May 28 with an in-person event at the Americade Rally in Lake George, New York, alongside a live YouTube film premiere at 6:00 pm Eastern. Free GPS tracks, digital maps, the official printed map, and full travel resources will be available at RideBDR.com on launch day.
Building on the success of the North East BDR (NEBDR), riders across the region now have an additional route in New York. The 700-mile Adirondacks BDR-X travels through one of the largest protected areas in the United States, offering a unique blend of remote forest roads, rugged terrain, and historic small towns, all set within a landscape known for its scale, beauty, and wild character.
The newly released trailer offers a first look at the expedition film documenting the development of the route. Shot across dense forests, winding backroads, and scenic lakeside stretches, the upcoming 40-minute documentary film captures the spirit of exploration and discovery that defines riding in the Adirondacks.
Join us for the Adirondacks BDR-X official route release & film premiere debut during a special community event as part of the Americade Rally in Lake George, New York. Riders are invited to attend in person.

The Adirondacks BDR-X is a 700-mile, multi-day loop through the heart of Adirondack Park, combining gravel roads, seasonal routes, and scenic pavement to showcase the region’s diverse terrain. The route winds through dense forests, along pristine lakes, and into historic towns, offering a balance of accessible riding with optional challenges and remote sections.
Unlike anywhere else in the East, Adirondack Park spans a vast landscape, larger than Yellowstone, Yosemite, and the Grand Canyon combined. Its extensive network of backroads and true sense of remoteness make it a premier destination for adventure riding, while its proximity to major population centers makes it uniquely accessible for both experienced riders and those new to ADV.
As with all BDR routes, the Adirondacks BDR-X is designed to guide riders through small towns and rural communities, encouraging them to fuel up, dine locally, and stay overnight while exploring responsibly.
Communities along the route, including Westport, Boonville, North Creek, Schroon Lake, Harrisville, and Au Sable Forks, will benefit from increased visitation. The route also brings much-needed summer traffic to the Tug Hill region, where many small businesses, stores, and lodges typically rely on winter snowmobiling season and can benefit from added off-season tourism.
A BDR motorcycle map is an essential supplement to the free BDR GPS tracks when navigating BDR routes. This map contains the main route, detailed section descriptions, and information on points of interest, gas stops, seasonal weather, elevation profiles, and much more.

The Adirondacks BDR-X was made possible through the support of the BDR community and industry partners.
Triumph Motorcycles provided bikes for the expedition, including the Tiger 900 Rally Pro and Scrambler models, well-suited for the varied terrain encountered on the route.
Fox Racing, the official apparel sponsor, outfitted the team with its Adventure line, designed for multi-day, off-road travel. Built with waterproofing, protection, and mobility in mind, the gear was tested across the changing conditions of the Adirondacks.
The project was also supported by Moto Vermont. Eric Milano, a longtime BDR contributor and owner of Moto Vermont, co-created the route and is featured in the film. He previously served as a regional expert on the NEBDR and offers tours and training in the area.
BDR extends its thanks to all partners and supporters who help make new routes and resources possible for the adventure riding community.
