BDR Connector Routes: Expanding Your Adventure

We’ve added five new Connector Routes to the free BDR GPS track downloads, making it easier to link multiple BDRs together and keep the adventure going.

Connector Routes provide a BDR-style way to travel from the beginning or end of one BDR to another, using enjoyable backcountry roads and off-highway terrain while minimizing highway miles whenever possible.

The new connectors include:

  • IDBDR to MTBDR – 123 miles
  • WYBDR to MTBDR – 283 miles
  • UTBDR to WYBDR – 304 miles
  • CA/OR to NV/ID – 535 miles
  • CABDR-South to NVBDR at Tonopah – 103 miles

More Ways to Connect to Montana

Two of the new connectors make it significantly easier to build longer Northern Rockies adventures around the Montana BDR:

  • IDBDR to MTBDR: Connects the northern ends of the Idaho and Montana BDRs, traveling through Canuck Pass, the Yaak River Valley, and Lake Koocanusa before reaching Eureka.
  • WYBDR to MTBDR: A scenic 283-mile connection from northern Wyoming to southern Montana, including Yellowstone National Park, the Beartooth Highway, and the historic Meeteetse Trail.

Whether you’re linking two routes or planning a multi-BDR journey, these new connectors give you more ways to stay off the highway and keep exploring.
