About The Route & Film
The ORBDR expedition film features members of the BDR team and special guests from BMW Motorrad USA, Mosko Moto, and Edelweiss Bike Travel as they take a first run on the all-new ORBDR. Starting in the high desert landscapes of Southeastern Oregon, and exploring North, into the Cascade Range, the crew tests their endurance, riding cross-state through 750 miles of lava rock, silt, sand, and steep mountain roads.
Highlighting the state’s many natural wonders including hot springs, pyroducts, caverns, buttes, and glaciated volcanoes, the route and film showcase why traveling by motorcycle is one of the best ways to discover the backcountry of Oregon.
The Film Premiere
The Official Film Premiere of the ORBDR documentary will be on February 4th at the Aladdin Theatre in Portland, OR, including an on-site mini-expo featuring BDR, BMW Motorrad USA, Mosko Moto and select industry partners and journalists.
While the film will only be viewable to those at the theatre, for those not in attendance, BDR is inviting adventure riders from around the world to join in the festivities via a live YouTube pre-show that will include interviews with the film’s cast and crew, a look at exclusive behind the scenes outtakes, and a live unveiling of the route’s free GPS tracks.
Additionally, in partnership with BMW Motorrad USA, multiple BMW Motorcycle dealerships throughout the United States will support the route release effort by hosting their own film premieres, also on February 4th.

BDR partnerships with major industry brands made this project possible.
BMW Motorrad USA is presenting their second BDR route, with the Lead Motorcycle Instructor from the BMW U.S. Rider Academy (in Greer, South Carolina) joining the ORBDR filming expedition.
Mosko Moto, the luggage and apparel manufacturer headquartered in White Salmon, WA endorsed the project, and is perfectly situated at the end of the ORBDR. Riders can cross the spectacular Bridge of the Gods on the Columbia River and find the Mosko Headquarters just a few miles down the road, along the main thoroughfare. The showroom at Mosko HQ is also very close to the start of the Washington BDR (WABDR), and for BDR riders, Mosko offers free camping at the Bates Mototel – about 5 miles from downtown White Salmon (reserve a site by email). Mosko’s Brand & Creative Director Ashley Myhre joined the filming expedition and rode Oregon’s tough terrain like a champ.
Edelweiss Bike Travel, Austria-based premier world-wide motorcycle tour company, has been a BDR industry supporter for many years. Edelweiss’ owner Tobias Wachter joined the BDR team in Oregon.
Gaia GPS is the GPS navigation app used by the BDR scouting team. A tutorial on how to use Gaia for the BDRs is available on the BDR website.
