Route Updates for Initial Route Release

A few important updates have been made to the initial track release (BDRX-Ozarks-April2026). These changes are included in the current GPS tracks available for download, but they are not reflected on the printed map, as they were made after the map went to print.

SECTION 1:

  • The original intended ALT Harder for Shortstop Hill has been graded. It is now integrated into the main route.

SECTION 2:

  • A 12 mi required bypass is in place for a Forest Service gated road closure on Morgan Mtn/East Fly Gap Road. A temporary bypass track is included in the .gpx file. Fuel and food are available in St Paul.
  • Repair timeline on these roads are TBD fall 2026. Never go around gates or road closures.

SECTION 3:

  • The original intended ALT Harder for Warloop Road has been graded and is no longer considered ALT Harder. It has been integrated into the main route.
  • Near the waypoint for ‘Rocky Climb 1’ just north of Horsehead Lake, the road has deteriorated and is rockier than usual with some small steps and ledges. Riders wishing to bypass can take CR-4160.

SECTION 4:

  • The Red Lick gas station is currently closed and expected to open mid-April. Riders can divert 7 mi south to Clarksville for fuel, or off route to Hector.
  • It is 140 miles from Oark to the next available fuel directly on the route in Mt Judea.

Read the full FAQ section on the main website page for important travel info and cautions.

With spring storms approaching, use extra caution following rain storms before attempting water crossings. When in doubt, turn around.
