Winter is Coming: Check snow levels with our interactive map
With winter upon us, weather and route conditions can change rapidly. Before you go, be sure and use our Interactive Map to view estimated snow levels on each of our routes.
- Click HERE to access the main interactive map page.
- Click on the LAYERS icon in the top right of the window.
- Select SNOW DEPTH to view estimated current snow levels.
- Zoom into the area of your choosing to view the estimated snow depth.
- Explore the other features of our interactive map to plan your next BDR experience.

Sections 5 and 6 – Closures in Death Valley NP – Bypass Required
Heavy rains have caused mudslides and closures in Death Valley and road closures are in place.
- Nearly the entire BDR tracks through DV are currently closed.
- Riders are advised to take pavement from Shoshone to Lone Pine via Highways 127, 190, and 136.
- Total bypass is approx 164mi and fuel is available in Furnace Creek and Stovepipe Wells.

New Tracks Available for Download
A new version of the California South BDR tracks is available labeled CABDR-S-February2025
This update includes a few minor refinements and a few new updates:
SECTION 6:
- A temporary bypass track has been added to bypass Titus Canyon, which remains closed at least until 2026.
- If you take the main route using this bypass, it’s 161 miles from Beatty to Lone Pine.
- If you don’t need to go into Beatty, be absolutely sure to fuel up in Furnace Creek or Stovepipe Wells.

Colosseum Mine Closure: SECTION 4
Colosseum Mine Road in Section 4 is open for travel but entry to the Colosseum Open Pit Mine is closed to the public. Please do your part to ride respectfully by respecting the posted signage.
