There are plenty of opportunities to ride, tour and train in the upcoming months. We’ve compiled a list of ADV tours and trainings on the BDRs and beyond from top notch tour operators and training companies, so you can start planning your 2021 adventures now!
MotoDiscovery has the Arizona Express Tour happening March 20-25th. Their coveted 7-day small group Moab Adventure Training & Tour has a few spots still available for May and September dates. They’re also opening a new Phoenix, AZ rental and tour hub (25 minutes north of Sky Harbor airport), and are booking winter fly-and-rides.
Backcountry Expeditions has 3 rides and trainings happening in Southern California in March. They are also offering a full 7-day AZBDR tour April 21-28th.
Colorado Motorcycle Adventures is offering two premiere BDR tours, COBDR Tour July 24 -31st, and the IDBDR Tour August 7-14th. They also specialize in renting the latest ADV-equipped motorcycles, and ENCOURAGE you to take them in the dirt! This summer they have brand new 2021 KTM 890Rs, KTM 690Rs, Yamaha Tenere 700s, BMW 1250GSs, and more ready for you.
Emmaus Tours is offering two BDR tours this season. The AZBDR Tour May 3-8th; and the Mid-Atlantic BDR Tour Aug 27 – Sept 2nd. They also offer adv-ready motorcycle rentals through Riders Share.
The DC Dirt Camp has tons of training events going on between March 5th and 4th of July weekend. Their “Clutch Capable” classes are for street riders wanting to learn the basics of off-road riding (a small displacement, lightweight, dirt bike is included). The next level up is the “Intro to Adventure” class.
In addition to his prominent Pahrump, Nevada off-road training facility, Jimmy Lewis Off-Road has partnered with Cispus Cycles to provide adventure and dual-sport training outside Randle, Washington. What’s even more exciting? You can now ride in Nevada with the 11-time Baja 1000 overall winner Johnny Campbell on a Dirt Bike or Adventure Bike tour during most months of the year. Arizona Motorcycle Adventures is opening on November 1st. The new facility in Tempe, AZ (minutes from the airport) will be sporting 2020-21 Adventure and Touring motorcycle rentals, guided and self-guided tours, custom route programming for you and/or your group, as well as secure motorcycle storage (with transfers to Colorado in the summer so you can ride year round).
West 38 Moto has numerous tours and trainings coming up this season. Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3 ADV trainings in Borrego Springs, CA; Globe, AZ, Cloudcroft, NM; Fort Collins, CO; and Ouray, CO. Tours in Baja, Mexico; on the IDBDR, COBDR and AZBDR; in the San Juan mountains in Colorado, and on the Wyoming Continental Divide.

Shal is one of the best trainers in the industry with years of experience teaching and inspiring women to ride safely and successfully on two-wheels. Another great ADV opportunity for the Ladies! Hosted by SheADV & Women’s Motorcyclist Foundation, Dirty for Good is a training, tour and fundraiser event happening Aug 22-27 along the North East Backcountry Discovery Route. During this female-focused ride, intermediate level dual-sport/adventure riders will take their off-road skills to the next level through real-life situational trail training under the tutelage of DART Certified Instructor Shal Wilson of SheADV/WMF.
Adventure Rider Safety Training powered by Dirt Bike Safety Training offers off-road and adventure riding skill instruction on their private 8.5 acre ranch north of Seattle, WA. Blue Rim Tours is offering two Mid-Atlantic tours this season. MABDR North-bound May 23-30th, and MABDR South-bound May 30- June 6th.
A spectacular COBDR experience for the Ladies – an all inclusive, 8-night, 7-day, fully supported training tour, beginning and ending in Grand Junction, CO. Under the guidance of SheADV’s Shalmarie Wilson, ADVWoman Pat Jacques, and DC Dirt Camp’s BJ Hessler you will begin your safe and fun learning experience with a day of ADV training, followed by a private presentation by Lisa Taylor. The following day your sisterhood of traveling moto women will head out on the tour of the COBDR. Smaller, single cyclinder dual sport bikes are recommended for this adventure.
