As a reminder you MUST obtain the three required permits along the AZBDR. See below Route Update post with more info.
The permit requirement for the Navajo Nation is now $25 per day.
Additionally a new permit is required on Section 5 through the CO Bar Ranch.

Large storms have impacted the road on the Pioneer Pass ALT Harder track in Section 2 and this optional challenging section has become washed out and is in more difficult condition.
Riders wishing to avoid this portion can remain on the main route via HWY77 into Globe.

1: The first is the Arizona State Land Trust Recreation Permit from the AZ State Land Trust (AZSLT). An individual permit is $15 and can be purchased online HERE.
2: The second permit is required for a short stretch of private land through the CO Bar Ranch in Section 5. This permit is free and can be obtained up to 14 days in advance online HERE
3: The third permit is required when riding through Navajo Nation (Sections 5 & 6) and is required to ride and camp in Navajo Nation. Permits are $25 each per person.
If you are riding the route from north to south, be sure and purchase the permit in advance.
