With the help of BDR Ambassador Jocelin Snow, we recently put out the call for the “Best BDR Team Photo” and the BDR community delivered…BIG TIME!
Drawing nearly 100 entries over the five-day contest, our judges panel made the call to award one “Grand Prize” winner and an additional four “Category Winners” in an effort to showcase the wide variety of riders and terrain from across all 10 BDR routes.
With two more winners still to be announced, here’s a look at our first three winners!
Best Overall – Ellen & Kelton Gines UTBDR
Notoriously challenging, Lockhart Basin, on the UTBDR, sometimes requires the ultimate team effort! Just 9 years old at the time, Kelton Gines captured this epic moment encapsulating what the BDR spirit is all about. Challenge, teamwork and adventure memories that last a lifetime! Great shot Kelton!
Best Perspective – Mike Rand COBDR
Many photos of Ophir Pass capture the ever-shifting challenge of the trails rocky surface, but few manage to show off the natural spectacle that is the Colorado backcountry. For those who have ridden the route, this photo is more than just a great shot of riders moving through technical terrain. It’s a sort of view finder into the overwhelming magnificence that every day delivers while riding the COBDR.
Best Aesthetic – Odessa Winter MABDR
“We we’re trying to pretend we were a band from the 90’s posing for an album cover” Photographer Odessa Winter Jokes of her stylish team photo on the MABDR. And with a stunning fall backdrop, great lighting and perfectly spaced “band” members we thought she nailed it! An easy choice for our “Best Aesthetic” award.
Special thanks to Mototomic and Rocky Creek Designs for helping us with our Grand Prize Pack!
