Winter is Coming: Check snow levels with our interactive map
With winter upon us, weather and route conditions can change rapidly. Before you go, be sure and use our ArcGIS Interactive Map to view estimated snow levels on each of our routes.
- Click HERE to access the main interactive map page.
- Click on the snowflake icon in the top right of the window.
- Select all of the boxes to view the NOHRSC Snow Analysis.
- Zoom into the route of your choosing to view the estimated snow depth.
- Explore the other features of our interactive map to plan your next BDR experience.

New Tracks Available for Download
A new version of the COBDR tracks is available for download labeled COBDR-May2025
This update includes a few minor refinements and a few new updates expanding on the August 2024 revisions:
SECTION 2:
- The original track for section 2 main route has been reclassified as an optional ALT Harder track due to deteriorating conditions from landslides, avalanches, and overuse by SideBySides and Jeeps causing more hazardous road conditions than when originally designed.
- As such, the previous Bypass track between Telluride and Lake City has now become the new main route for section 2 and has been improved upon.

Purchase the COBDR map HERE. A new 4th Edition map is currently in design and will reflect these track changes, expected late June 2025.

New Tracks Available for Download
An updated version of the COBDR tracks are available for download labeled COBDR-August2024.
- This version includes a few routine updates and a few route changes as follows:
- Sec 2: The track for CO2 ALT Bypass – Telluride to Lake City has been modified to provide more dirt and avoid intermittent major closures on Hwy50.
- This new track is 123mi from Telluride to Lake City with fuel available in Ridgway
- Sec 3: The previous bypass track for Home Gulch has become the main route, and the portion of Razor DOme/Home Gulch has been separated into an optional advanced track labeled CO3 ALT Harder – Home Gulch
- This ALT Harder track is 6mi
- Sec 2: The track for CO2 ALT Bypass – Telluride to Lake City has been modified to provide more dirt and avoid intermittent major closures on Hwy50.
