New Tracks Available for Download
A new version of the IDBDR is available labeled IDBDR-August2025-v1.0
This update includes a few important updates:
SECTION 7:
- One temporary bypass track is included in these latest tracks to work around a culvert replacement on Beaver Creek Road scheduled to take place through August 31.
- Additionally, logging traffic is very heavy throughout Idaho but primarily within Section 7. Riders should use extreme caution on all forest roads, and Ride Right at all times to avoid head on collisions with other riders or logging traffic. Keep speeds down and be extra cautious in blind turns.
SECTION 9:
- Back by popular demand, the Roman Nose ALT Harder track has been updated and added back to the file for Section 9.
- The optional Roman Nose ALT Harder is fairly tame but there’s one short tough section on the ascent up to Ruby Pass. It’s worth the challenge to get to see the Roman Nose Lakes and walk the boardwalk there. On this long optional side trip there are views of Roman Nose, Bottleneck Peak, and other massive granite mountains in Kaniksu National Forest.
- This optional track is 40mi in length, be sure and gas up in Upper Pack River

Section 9: Bypass Required for Wildfire
The Lightning Creek Fire is burning near Clark Fork on Section 9 and a bypass is required.
- From Clark Fork, simply remain on Hwy 200 for 13 miles to bypass the closure area.
- Riders coming from the north should remain on Hwy 200 heading south to rejoin the tracks in Clark Fork.

Section 2 – Closure Reported
We have received a report of a road closure on FR385 just south of Lowman on Section 2 and a bypass may be required.
- While heading north, at the intersection of 312 and 384 (Crooked River Rd) take Crooked River west to highway 21, then north to Lowman
- Intersection coordinates are: 43.972523550176184, -115.56193191848872
- Bypass as shown is approx 20mi
- If fuel is not available in Lowman, backtrack on the route to Haven Hot Springs

Section 6: The Blue Heaven Cabin – Private Property
As a reminder to all riders, the Blue Heaven Cabin is privately owned and is not open for public use.
There have been a reported issues with visitors taking personal food and belongings from the cabin, and people staying there illegally.
We ask all riders to please respect the privacy, resources, and personal belongings of this private property. You are welcome to stop and sign the guestbook, but please move along after doing so.
Take only pictures, leave only footprints, Ride Respectfully.
