Maine Important Announcement
It has been brought to our attention that a portion of the NEBDR in Maine may need to be re-routed. While we are investigating this, we are pausing the ability to download sections 7 & 8 of the tracks and disabling those sections on the interactive map. The issue is that a lot of land in Maine is privately owned and changes ownership frequently. With new ownership comes new rules with regard to access. We are working with state officials and all relevant parties to sort out the challenges and to come up with a solid solution.
What we will not do, is knowingly run a route in an area that prohibits motorcycle travel – even if passenger vehicles are allowed in that area – as is the case with many roads in Maine
If a re-route is required, we’ll ride there as soon as the snow melts to scout and verify any new tracks and get the updated route to the community as soon as we can.
This is all part of our mission to promote long term backcountry access through cooperation and advocacy.
At this time, we are also temporarily discontinuing the sale of NEBDR maps. If the NEBDR map in fact needs to be reprinted, replacement maps will be available to those who have already purchased one.
As updates become available, they will be announced on our news page here:http://ridebdr.com/latest-news/
We are doing our best to resolve the situation as soon as possible. Thanks for understanding. Please be patient.
