2024 TONOPAH, NV BDR ADVENTURE RIDE WEEKEND FUNDRAISER
Thursday, May 16 – Sunday, May 19, 2024
Thursday, May 16 – Sunday, May 19, 2024
Join us for the next BDR Fundraiser Ride Weekend on May 16 – 19, 2024 in historic Tonopah, Nevada. Nicknamed the ‘Queen of the Silver Camps’ for its mining rich history and unique surrounding scenery and geology.
As always, expect a range of daily ride options tailored to various skill levels during your exploration of Nye and Esmeralda Counties, NV, with occasional ventures into California.
The event will be hosted at the historic and beautifully-renovated Mizpah Hotel in Tonopah, NV, a treasured destination since 1907, and better known as the “Jewel of the Desert”. In addition to daily rides, the program includes evening presentations and round table discussions with the BDR team and special guests.
Route options range from entirely paved routes to narrow forest roads with challenging segments, as you explore the mining and ghost towns of Belmont, Goldpoint, Goldfield, Luning, Manhattan, Ione, Berlin, and Silver Peak (lithium mine), among other fascinating destinations.
On your rides, enjoy captivating scenery and geological wonders, encompassing sparse desert sagebrush valleys, juniper and pine-filled canyons, dry lake beds, lava flows, granite outcroppings, hayfields, and high-altitude meadows. Depending on residual snow, trail elevations will span from 4300′ to 9800′.

NOTE: For those traveling from the LA area, consider taking Hwy 168 out of Big Pine, traversing (one lane) Westgard Pass. As it descends into Fish Lake Valley (Oasis Ranch), turn right on Hwy 266. If time allows, explore Walt’s Place in Goldpoint, NV, and Goldfield, NV along the way, adding an interesting and scenic dimension to your journey.
BDR presents an optional half-day training with Jimmy Lewis, a Baja 1000 winner and Dakar Rally podium finisher. Based in Pahrump, NV, Jimmy Lewis Off-Road Training has been conducting schools for adventure and dual-purpose riders since 1999, emphasizing safe and controlled adventure riding.
Taking place on May 16th, from 10 am to 2 pm, just before the Fundraiser Weekend kicks off, the training accommodates 15 riders of all skill levels. Designed to be inclusive and engaging, it welcomes various skill levels and bike types. This is an excellent opportunity to sharpen off-road riding skills before exploring the self-guided routes during the Weekend.
Held near Tonopah, the training costs $250/rider (bike not included). Secure your spot by adding the option when purchasing your Fundraiser Weekend ticket. Jimmy Lewis will reach out with additional training details closer to the Fundraiser Weekend date.
